For the past eight years, Joshua House has hosted a 3-on-3 Street Basketball Tournament in downtown Tyrone, and last year’s HoopsFest 2008 was our best event yet. There were 75 volunteers, 77 teams, 323 players, twelve different divisions ranging from “4th/5th grade” to “age 60 & over,” as well as teams from Maryland and New York.

With commercials on ESPN, MTV, and Cartoon Network, HoopsFest’s reputation and notoriety has grown to the point of becoming Joshua House’s biggest fundraiser and central PA’s biggest 3-on-3 tournamnet.

Even more so, HoopsFest has become a great community event as we have partnered with a large number of local organizations: The Tyrone Area Chamber of Commerce, Tyrone Merchants Association, On Target Archers, The National Guard, et al. These partners organize sidewalk sales, climbing walls, video game trailers, booths, carnival games, and musical performances during tournament game play.
